A fantastic opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and creative Marketing Assistant to join our growing Marketing and Design consultancy for a paid ongoing casual position ranging from 5 – 15 hours per week (with the possibility to increase over time). Flexible working conditions offered in-house at our Keilor East studio, for the right applicant.

Your work will cover all aspects of the marketing and design process from strategy, planning, copywriting, briefing artwork, working closely with the design team, right through to marketing project delivery.

You will have the opportunity to work on multiple brands, mostly corporate in nature, and demonstrate your marketing and creative flair under the direction of our Marketing Strategist.

The role will offer the right candidate an entrepreneurial environment, where you can utilise your learnings, experience and creative abilities to assist us to maintain and grow our marketing and design client contracts and ongoing clients, with a focus on achieving our client’s and company goals. You need to be a self-starter, highly motivated, resourceful and a problem solver with a “can do” attitude. Being adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment is also a must.

This role may suit a final year marketing student or recent graduate with subjects studied in a marketing related discipline.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Under the guidance of our Marketing Strategist, you will support the marketing and design functions and apply your skills whilst learning new proficiencies, across all required marketing and design projects including:

  • Create new marketing strategic and / or communication plans, covering all areas of marketing including social media where required and applicable.
  • Undertake the implementation of all strategic and / or communication plans, including copy writing and managing external contractors and submission of monthly logs.
  • Undertake internal projects / internal marketing as required.
  • Work closely with our Marketing Strategist, Creative Director, design team and external partners.
  • Brief graphic design projects with design team, including involvement in brainstorming and idea generation.
  • Manage incoming phone and email client enquiries
Skills
  • Excellent and confident communication skills essential (both verbal and written) and strong marketing copy writing skills.
  • Understanding of online and offline marketing strategies and digital marketing across all social media platforms.
  • Understanding of style and creative principles.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet daily deadlines with high levels of organisation.
  • Goal and results orientated with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be a team player.
  • Positive problem solver.
  • Knowledge of WordPress and Mailchimp desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent Word and Excel knowledge.
  • Mac experienced user, including Mail desirable, but not essential.

Qualifications / Experience (desired, though not essential)

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, journalism, media, communications, project or event management or related field
  • Previous experience in copy writing for sales and marketing activities.
  • Experience in B2B services and/or marketing strategies.
  • May also suit a final year student in the above disciplines.
