A fantastic opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and creative graphic design intern to join our growing Marketing and Design consultancy for a paid fixed 3 month casual position ranging from 5 – 10 hours per week. Flexible working conditions offered in-house at our Keilor East studio, for the right applicant.

Your work and learning will cover all aspects of the design process from conceptualising and creation, right through to creating finished artwork.

You will have the opportunity to design for multiple brands, mostly corporate in nature, and demonstrate your creative flair under the direction of our Creative Director. Projects will range from branding development, sales and marketing collateral, social media, web graphics and beyond. This role may suit a final year student or recent graduate with an accredited graphic design qualification, with subjects studied covering design fundamentals, principles and elements.

Being adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment is also a must, as tight deadlines and turnaround times are common.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Under the guidance of our Creative Director, you will support the design function and apply your skills whilst learning new proficiencies, across all required design projects including:

  • Developing creative concepts for logo identities and branding elements
  • Developing creative concepts and layout for brochures, advertising, packaging, social media and similar
  • Liaising with clients and suppliers regarding artwork queries and proofing through to finished project
  • Supporting marketing team members with client design requirements
  • Creating in-house collateral where needed
  • Designing of in-house and client EDMs
  • Be involved in brainstorming and idea generation sessions relating to design projects
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign skills using Creative Cloud
  • Proficient in any other industry-based software a bonus
  • Good pre-press and print knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills essential (both verbal and written)

  • Sound understanding of design principles (and when to break them!)
  • Ability to apply the role of ‘play’ and ‘fun’ in their work
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast paced environment and meet daily deadlines with high levels of organisation.

  • Good pre-press and print knowledge
