Sound City Melbourne are Melbourne’s newest rehearsal & recording studios, located in Spotswood, Melbourne, Victoria. They provide quality air-conditioned accoustically designed spaces decked out with state of the art Mackie equipment. Music is their passion with Tone Polimeni (co-owner and singer songwriter) previously having written alongside Tyrone Noonan (George) and resident in-house producer Danny Simcic, formerly of the band REAL LIFE. The studios additionally offer both equipment hire and storage facilities, with onsite parking.
The brief was to develop a brand identity that paid homage to the great sound city studios in the USA who recorded some of the greatest albums in modern rock, but still giving the logo a distinctive Melbourne feel. It needed to be recognisable, evoke movement and incorporate a retro feel.
Following the logo, variable business cards were produced, in time for opening night together with internal and external brand identity signage for the premises. These were designed and printed on adhesive for various applications with UV resistant inks for long term performance.
As well as other forms of advertising, Sound City maintains a regular presence in popular Melbourne club and gig guide, Beat magazine, as a means to reach potential customers. A launch advertisement was also designed to announce the grand opening.
