Helping Hands Mission Inc. (HHM) is a not-for-profit organisation that runs seven opportunity shops across Melbourne and rural Victoria. They accept donations of clothes, books, toys and household goods, which HHM then sells through the opportunity shops. Money received provides the funding to deliver programs that focus on providing emergency aid, material aid and opportunities for social inclusion, including generation of employment opportunities for job seekers.
To increase the volume of donations and therefore income received, HHM custom-built large metal powder coated charity bins. The bins needed to be branded with a clear invitation to donate and an explanation of their cause, which were then printed on large format adhesive stickers to stand out against other charity bins. The content for the donation station concept was conceptualised and written by our team of copywriters.
Ideapro were thrilled to engage in another project with HHM. We have worked with the team on a variety of marketing collateral and other design pieces including their community recipe book, business cards and signage. HHM approached ideapro for our design and print expertise, to ensure brand continuity was maintained to reinforce their brand through yet another customer touchpoint. As we are familiar with all aspects of their brand, we were confident in our ability to take on this project.
We were required to design the front handle pull down, a thank you message, front door access and the side of the donation station for passersby. The charity bins were to be positioned either alongside other charity bins in supermarket carparks, or in the private premises of supporting affiliated organisations. Clear and consistent branding was critical, along with ensuring the bins were aesthetically pleasing to encourage people to deliver their donated goods to Helping Hands Mission Inc.
Our client was pleased with the result sharing, “The ‘donation station’ graphic was something new and different for us and we absolutely love it – it took elements of our logo/colour scheme and reworked that into a fresh new design. As always ideapro were a pleasure to work with, they listened to our requirements and understood that we needed to differentiate ourselves from the other charity bins out there. We think they really nailed this one!” Maddy Kirby, Communications Manager.
